NORTHBOROUGH, Mass – Since 2015 the Anna Maria College baseball team has called the New England Baseball Complex in Northborough, Mass home and it will once again serve as their home for the 2018 season.
The New England Baseball Complex is a 30-acre facility in Central Massachusetts owned by New England Baseball Enterprises. With three fully turf, Major League size baseball fields as well as indoor hitting tunnels it is a great facility to call home and allows for play in even the worst conditions.
"This is a new era not only for Anna Maria baseball, but for Anna Maria athletics as a whole," Said head baseball coach Dan Briand. "President Retelle, Athletic Director Serge DeBari, and the entire administration is so supportive of athletics. For them to make such a big financial commitment to provide us the opportunity to play our home games close to campus, on one of the premier facilities in the region is a testament to how committed Anna Maria College is to athletics overall." Briand added, "It gives our guys an advantage because we are able to get outside and play while most teams are stuck in a gym. It also allows us to play games even if the weather isn't perfect early in the season which will help us be prepared for the conference tournament by ensuring we get as much game experience as we possibly can throughout the season."
The AMCATS will open their 2018 campaign at NEBC on Saturday February 24th at 12pm against Fitchburg State University.
