PAXTON, Mass.-- Freshman Mike Rapoza (Charlton, Mass.) of the Anna Maria College men's basketball team was named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Corvias Rookie of the Week as announced by the league office on Tuesday afternoon. This is Rapoza's first time receiving Rookie of the Week honors.
Rapoza averaged 13.5 points and 12.0 rebounds in a pair of contests last week to garner his first GNAC Rookie of the Week honor. Rapoza leads the AMCATS this season averaging 16.6 points per game and 12.2 rebounds per game. He notched a career high 24 points in the AMCATS first win of the season over Mount Ida on Dec. 1st. Rapoza has recorded a total of seven double-doubles this season.
The AMCATS travel to Saint Joseph's College of Maine on Wednesday, Jan. 4th for a GNAC contest starting at 5:30 PM.
