NEWTON, Mass.—The Lasell College men's lacrosse team posted a 22-0 shutout win against the AMCATS on Anna Maria College on Saturday afternoon in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action.
The Lasers scored nine goals in the first quarter and added seven more in the second to take a 16-0 halftime lead. The hosts scored three goals in each of the second-half quarters en route to their first shutout win of 2015.
Alex McCormackkuhman led the Lasers with four goals, while Jason Donovan and Aaron Laporte scored three goals each. Anothny Saitta and Evan Doherty both tallied two goals and an assist.
Chris Thomas-Ikier earned the start in net and tallied one save to take the win. Jorde Salazar played in the net in the second half, totaling four saves in 30 minutes of action.
Anna Maria goaltender Zachary Sylvia (Tiverton, R.I.) totaled 13 saves and faced 50 shots on the day.
Junior defender Edward Jankowski (Billerica, Mass.) totaled four ground balls and two caused turnovers for the AMCATS. Chase Swift finished with seven ground balls for Lasell, while teammate Derek Marshall posted a game-high four caused turnovers.
The AMCATS will be back in action on Tuesday when they host Albertus Magnus in a 7:00 p.m. GNAC contest.
