PAXTON, Mass: 76-74 was the final of tonight's overtime Anna Maria Women's Basketball triumph over conference opponent Rivier University, in Nashua, N.H.

How it Happened

The contest was neck and neck throughout all four quarters with Rivier holding a slight advantage with a two-point lead. The Raiders (1-10, 0-2 GNAC) weren't able to hold onto that two-point lead with less than five seconds to go in the fourth quarter, because Amber Wilson (New York, NY) of the AMCATS (4-11, 1-1 GNAC) wasn't going home with a loss. With one second to go in regulation Wilson was able to sink a layup off of a pass from Franny Hammond (Worcester, Mass) forcing the game into overtime, with the score tied at 70 all.

In overtime, there was only ten combined points scored, so every basket counted. Anna Maria was able to come back from being down four and secure the victory with clutch free throws from Sierra Johnson (Brockton, Mass.) and a final 3-Point shot made by Johanna Burke (Oxford, Mass) to end the game 76-74.
