The Lead: Junior forward Kayla Generis (Wethersfield, Conn.), sophomore forward Olivia Collins (Douglas, Mass.) and freshman forward Paige White (Guilford, Conn.) each scored two goals to power the Emmanuel College women's soccer team past Anna Maria College, 10-0 on Saturday afternoon in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference opener for both squads.


-Emmanuel owned a 34-2 advantage on total shots and a 9-2 edge on corner kicks

-The 10 goals for the Saints was the most since a 10-1 win over Rivier back on September 25, 2004

-The win snapped a snapped a five-game losing skid dating back to the 2016 season

-Sophomore keeper Alexis Gawron (South Hadley, Mass.) registered her first collegiate victory in goal, making one save in the first half

-Anna Maria keeper Gabriella Eldredge (West Boylston, Mass.) made 13 saves in net for the AMCATS


-Generis got the scoring started, scoring a pair of goals less than one minute apart during the 11th and 12th minutes of play to give the Saints an early 2-0 lead

-Sophomore midfielder Abba McKenelley (Middleton, Mass.) made it 3-0 with her first goal of the season before White capped the first half scoring with two goals over the final three minutes of play to account for a 5-0 halftime score.

-Collins opened the second half scoring with back-to-back goals to increase the lead to 7-0

-Freshman Rachel Lisbon (Portsmouth, N.H.) and sophomores Ashleigh Meyer (Exeter, N.H.) and Erica Lehn (Austintown, Ohio) capped the scoring as the trio each netted their first collegiate goal in the win


-The Saints return to action on Wednesday, September 13 when they host Saint Joseph's College (ME) at 7:00 PM in another GNAC tilt

-The AMCATS play the same night, travelling to Regis for a 7:00 PM GNAC affair
