PAXTON, Mass: The Anna Maria College President Mary Lou Retelle and Athletics Director Serge DeBari have announced that Lindsey Garvey has been named the Senior Woman Administrator and Head Women's Soccer Coach. She also will lead the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC).
Lindsey will be coming to Anna Maria after serving as the SWA and Head Women's Soccer Coach at Newbury College. Garvey is a graduate of Emmanuel College and holds a Master's degree in Sports Leadership from Northeastern University.
Lindsey's coaching career started as an assistant with Lesley University, where she helped the team secure a NECC Championship and the team's first trip to the NCAA Tournament. As an assistant coach at Wheaton College Garvey ran all day training sessions with Soccer's Future Academy. She was named the interim Women's Head Soccer coach at Wheaton, where she coached four Second-Team All-NEWMAC athletes, two Second-Team All-New England, and one Third-Team All-New England selections. Lindsey was also able to bring that team to the NEWMAC Semifinals.
At Newbury Garvey was the SWA and involved with most aspects of the Athletics Department. She served on the hiring committee, supervisor of the Federal Work-Study students and was a game day management supervisor. As a coach at Newbury she coached one Second-Team and one Third-Team All-NECC selection, and brought her team to the post season in the NECC.
