Mike Burlas joins the Anna Maria Athletic staff as the Assistant Athletic Director for Athletics Development. Burlas will be responsible for serving as the primary manager for all athletic fundraising initiatives, which includes the day-to-day operations of the AMCAT Club, athletic department and team fundraising events, soliciting major gifts for athletic capital campaigns, corporate sponsorships, and additional department and college-wide fundraising initiatives.
"I am very excited about this opportunity and returning to Anna Maria and to be working with Joe Brady and Coach Phillips again," said Mike Burlas. "I look forward to working with the Anna Maria College athletic family, current and past, as we build for the future of AMCAT Athletics."
Burlas spent 27 seasons on staff with Phillips at both Anna Maria College and Clark University. He was the primary fundraiser for the men's basketball program and served as one of the program's key recruiters. Burlas returns to Anna Maria College with a wealth of experience as an operations management professional from his time at Wilson Sports Good Company, Westinghouse/Fortin in Marlborough and most recently Keltec Associates. Burlas also served on the Assumption College Alumni Association Board of Directors and as the chairperson of the Athletic Hall of Fame. He graduated from Assumption College in 1976 as a two-year letter winner on the football team as a punter.
