Men’s Ice Hockey Rolls Past Rivier

AUBURN, Mass. - Anna Maria College defeated Rivier University 7-1 in a Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference men's ice hockey game on Saturday night at the Horgan Arena.

With the win, the AMCATS improve to 14-5-2 overall and 8-1-1 in conference play.

Anna Maria jumped out to a 4-1 lead after the opening period. Max Pelletier opened the scoring 6:30 into the game, assisted by Adam Redding and Pearce Baker. Brady Harroun made it 2-0 six minutes later with help from Brandon Della-Paolera. Lucas De La Salle added the third goal off a pass from Tobias Omholt before Braeden McKinnon closed out the period, scoring on assists from Baker and Dylan McElhinny.

Rivier's Nolan Ring scored early in the second period, but the AMCATS responded with a goal from McKinnon, assisted by Baker and De La Salle.

Anna Maria added two more goals in the third period. Adam Redding scored with assists from Omholt and Della-Paolera, and De La Salle capped the scoring with his second goal of the game, assisted by Omholt and Redding.

Matthew Hennessey played the full 60 minutes in goal for Anna Maria, stopping 16 shots.

Anna Maria returns to action on Thursday, February 12, with a road game at Westfield State scheduled for a 7:35 p.m. faceoff.
