Michaud Hits Career High In Loss To Terriers
PAXTON, MA - On Monday, March 3rd the Anna Maria College women's lacrosse team hosted the Terriers of Thomas College for a non-conference matchup. The AMCATS lost the game 17-10.
The AMCATS were the first on the board with a goal less than five minutes into the first quarter from Riley Michaud. It wouldn't take long before the Terriers tied the game back up, however a pair of goals from Ivy Ballou gave the AMCATS the lead over the Terriers. Back to back free position shots would allow the Terriers to tie the game back up at three goals a piece however Raegan Hachey and Riley Michaud would tack on two more AMCAT goals before the end of the quarter to give the AMCATS a 5-3 lead.
Less than 30 seconds into the second quarter, Riley Michaud struck again as the AMCATS continued to build upon their lead. The Terriers would go on to score less than four minutes later but it was Michaud yet again who kept the AMCATS lead alive. Despite giving up a pair of Terrier goals to end the first half, the AMCATS continued to lead 7-6 as the game entered halftime.
Unfortunately the AMCATS would only score three more goals in the second half of the game, two of which came off free position shots early in the third quarter. The AMCATS only other goal of the evening came from Riley Michaud yet again with just over a minute left to play in the final quarter. The game would come to a close with the AMCATS falling behind the Terriers 17-10. Riley Michaud finished the evening with 6 goals and 2 assists for 8 total points in the AMCATS home opener.
