WOMEN'S LACROSSE CAN'T KEEP UP WITH BEAVERS

PAXTON, MA - On Thursday March 13th, 2025, the Anna Maria College women's lacrosse team hosted the Beavers of the University of Maine Farmington for a non-conference matchup. The AMCATS lost the game 14-3.

The Beavers started the game off with ten unanswered goals. It wouldn't be until early in the third quarter that Olivia Stump would break the AMCATS silence making it a 10-1 game. This would not be enough for the AMCATS as the Beavers would come right back and score one more against the AMCATS before the third quarter would end, adding to their lead over the AMCATS 11 to 1. The AMCATS would manage one last goal in the third quarter off the stick of Olivia Stump from her second goal of the game off a pass from Christine Ijawet. The AMCATS would head into the fourth quarter 11 to 2, The AMCATS would score first off, a free position shot from Riley Michaud to get the third and last goal of the game for the AMCATS. The Beavers would be quick to respond to the AMCATS offense in the fourth scoring three more goals to silence the AMCATS. The fourth quarter would finish in favor of the Beavers over the AMCATS 14 to 3. 

BEYOND THE BOXSCORE 

  • Olivia Stump would have her first two goal game of the season for the AMCATS. 
  • Riley Michaud would add to her lead total for the AMCATS with 11 goals in four games so far this season. 
  • Raegan Hachey would lead the AMCATS in ground balls against the Beavers with 5. 

WHAT'S NEXT: 

The AMCATS will be back in action on Saturday, March 15th, 2025, where they will host St. Joseph College (ME) Monks for a Great Northeast Athletic Conference matchup. Opening draw is set for 12:00pm.
