Wildcats Prove Too Much for AMCATS

Paxton, MA – The Johnson & Wales Wildcats' offensive onslaught set the tone in this conference matchup against the Anna Maria AMCATS, as they secured a 14 - 1 victory on a sunless Saturday at AMCATS Field.

The AMCATS drop to 1-9 following this match, while the Wildcats improve to a 4-6 record on the season.

Freshman Samantha Gabriella (Malden, MA) got her first start in the net tonight. She performed admirably, stopping 16 shots from finding the back on the net.

The Wildcats' maintained high pressure on the AMCATS defense however, taking 47 shots, scoring 9 unanswered goals in the first half, and topping that total off with an additional 5 in the second.

The goals came in bunches for the Wildcats. Freshmen Alyson Mardsen (Ferndale, PA) and Brittney Carty (Long Valley, NJ) each had a hat trick, and sophomore Tori Foster (Virginia Beach, VA) added two goals of her own.

The lone AMCATS goal came late in the second half, when senior Midfielder Tabitha Ruggeri (Palmer, MA) used some fancy footwork to get past three defenders.

The AMCATS return to action on October 6^th, when they travel to take on Simmons College at 1:00 PM.
