Women’s Soccer Outlasted by Albertus Magnus

PAXTON, MA - Anna Maria College was defeated 4-1 by Albertus Magnus College in a collegiate non-conference women's soccer game on Wednesday afternoon at Caparso Field.

With the loss, the AMCATS' overall record falls to 0-7, while remaining 0-2 in MASCAC play.

After falling behind 3-0 in the first half, the AMCATS broke through in the 69th minute when Ellie Dube stepped up and buried a penalty kick into the back of the net for her first goal of the season. The score cut the deficit to two before the visitors answered minutes later to give the game its final score.

Anna Maria finished the match with five total shots, including two on target. Jillian Caruso led the attack with two shots, one of which was on target, while Olivia Vale da Serra and Hannah Pratt each added one attempt.

Goalkeeper Brooke Austin played the entire game in net for the AMCATS, recording six saves in the loss.

Anna Maria College returns to action on Wednesday, September 24th, with a non-conference home game against Regis College beginning at 6 p.m.
