Boyce and Austin Earn MASCAC Weekly Awards

PAXTON, MA – A new week brings more accolades from the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC), as Nikolay Boyce of football and Brooke Austin of women's soccer each earned weekly honors, announced on Monday afternoon by the league office.

Boyce was named MASCAC Offensive Player of the Week for the third time this season after leading the AMCATS to an impressive 41-14 victory over Westfield State, marking the team's third consecutive conference win. The freshman quarterback completed 18 passes for 297 yards and five touchdowns, finishing with a 184.8 efficiency rating. He connected for scoring passes of 13, 67, 38, 30, and three yards in the win.

Austin earned both MASCAC Rookie and Defensive Player of the Week honors following a dominant week in goal. The freshman recorded a perfect 1.000 save percentage and 0.00 goals-against average, posting 19 total saves in a pair of shutout ties against Wentworth and MCLA. Austin made a career-high 13 saves against Wentworth and added six more versus MCLA to cap off a perfect week between the posts.

Boyce and football take time to rest with a bye week before returning on October 18th at Plymouth State, while Austin and the women's soccer team hosts John Jay on Wednesday, October 8th, beginning at 6 p.m.
