PAXTON, MA - On Saturday, October 11, 2025, the Anna Maria College field hockey team hosted the Vikings of Salem State for a MASCAC conference matchup. The AMCATS lost the game 3-0.
The AMCATS would come out strong offensively early against the Vikings, creating multiple scoring opportunities but it would be the Vikings goalie to keep the AMCATS off the scoreboard. The game would go back in forth and would have the first quarter end tied 0-0. It would then be the AMCATS to come out strong in the second quarter creating. Opportunities but again it would eb the Vikings goalie to keep the AMCATS off the board. The Vikings would quickly start to find their opportunities and chances on the AMCATS, but it would be Julianna Stanger to keep the Vikings off the board. As the second quarter would start to wind down it would be the Vikings to score the first goal of the game with about two minutes left in the quarter to take the lead over the AMCATS 1-0. That would conclude the scoring in the first half of the game, and the AMCAST would head to halftime trailing he Vikings 1-0.
After the intermission, the AMCATS would look to come out strong as they would be trailing to the Vikings. The third quarter would be back and forth action but the quarter would not see any goals scored with the game heading into the fourth and final quarter with the Vikings still leading the AMCATS 1-0. The AMCATS would look to bring the offensive pressure in the final quarter, but it would be all Vikings as they would go on to score two goals in the fourth quarter and keep the AMCATS off the scoreboard. The fourth quarter would end and result in the AMCATS falling to the Vikings 3-0
COMING UP:
The AMCATS will be back in action on Saturday October 18th, 2025, where they will travel to Bridgewater, MA to take on the Bears of Bridgewater State University for a MASCAC conference matchup. Game is set to start at 12:00pm.
