PAXTON, MA - The Anna Maria College field hockey team fell 6-1 to Worcester State University in a Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference matchup on Tuesday evening at Caparso Field.
With the result, the AMCATS drop to 1-15 overall and 0-11 in conference play.
Trailing 3-0 early in the second quarter, Anna Maria got on the board when Kennedy Etheridge netted her first goal of the season off a pass from Alyse Mutti, cutting the Lancers' lead to 3-1. Worcester State, however, added three more goals to pull away and secure the win.
The AMCATS recorded six total shots, five of which were on target. Lily Celata and Madison Marie Romano each tallied two shots on goal. Julianna Stanger turned in a standout performance in goal with a career-high 21 saves while playing the full 60 minutes.
Anna Maria wraps up regular season play with a Senior Day matchup against Framingham State on Saturday, November 1st, beginning at noon.
