FIELD HOCKEY CAN'T KEEP UP WITH BEARS

PAXTON MA– On Tuesday, September 23rd the Anna Maria College Field Hockey hosted the Bears of Bridgewater State University for a MASCAC conference game. The AMCATS would lose the game 6 to 1.

The Bears would come out strong in the opening two quarters against the AMCATS, pressuring them fast and getting multiple opportunities and shots on net. It would be Julia Stanger the AMCATS goalie making multiple saves throughout the first two quarters to allow only one goal for the Bears in the first half of the game. It would be the AMCATS to get an opportunity on the Bears in the second quarter when Lily Celata would score for the AMCATS to tie the game 1-1. It would be the Celata goal and Stanger effort in net to keep the game tied 1-1. 

The Bears would come out strong in the second half of the game, completely controlling play against the AMCATS scoring three goals in the third quarter to lead the AMCATS heading into the fourth quarter 4-1. It would be the AMCATS to get some pressure on the Bears and create an opportunity, but it would be the Bears goalkeeper to keep the AMCATS at only one goal in the game. It would be the Bears to keep the pressure on the AMCATS and score two more goals in the fourth quarter. The AMCATS would fall to the Bears 6-1. 

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE 

• Julianna Stanger would make a career high in saves in a single game with 15 saves against the Bears. 
• Lily Celata would add to her season total for the AMCATS with her 6^th goal of the season. 

COMING UP:

The AMCATS will be back in action on Saturday, September 26^th where they will travel to Westfield, MA to take on the Owls of Westfield State for a MASCAC conference matchup. Game is set to start at 7:00pm.
