WORCESTER, MA - Anna Maria College was shut out 5-0 by Worcester State University in a Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference field hockey game on Saturday afternoon at John Coughlin Memorial Field.
With the result, the AMCATS' overall record falls to 1-9 and 0-5 in MASCAC play.
Lily Celata recorded Anna Maria's only shot of the game early in the third quarter, an on-target strike that forced the Lancer's goalkeeper to make a save to keep the AMCATS off the scoreboard.
Julianna Stanger played the entire game in net for the AMCATS, making an impressive 20 saves to keep Worcester State from running away with the game.
Anna Maria returns to action on Tuesday, October 7th, for a road game against conference rival Framingham State beginning at 7 p.m.
