BRIDGEWATER, MA - Anna Maria College was defeated 12-1 by the powerhouse Bridgewater State Bears in a Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference field hockey game on Saturday afternoon at the Swenson Athletic Complex
With the result, the AMCATS' overall record drops to 1-12 and 0-8 in conference play.
Lily Celata was Anna Maria's only goal scorer in the game, finding the back of the net early in the third quarter after receiving a pass from Morgan Beane. Kennedy Etheridge added the only other AMCAT shot of the game.
Goalkeeper Julianna Stanger gave a strong effort for the AMCATS, making 18 saves against 31 shots on target and 52 total attempts from a dominant Bridgewater State squad that now holds a 12-2 overall record and an 8-1 mark in conference play.
Anna Maria returns home on Tuesday, October 21st, to host MASCAC rival Westfield State. Start time is scheduled for 6 p.m.
