Women’s Ice Hockey Falls to Framingham State

WORCESTER, Mass. - Anna Maria College was defeated 7–4 by Framingham State University in a Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference women's ice hockey game on Friday evening.

With the loss, the AMCATS move to 4–11–1 overall and 2–4–1 in conference play.

Anna Maria opened the scoring midway through the first period, as Suri Roberts found the back of the net at 6:10, assisted by Mia Provenzo. Framingham State responded with a pair of goals later in the period to take a 2–1 lead after one.

The Rams extended their advantage in the second period, scoring four times, while Anna Maria answered with goals from Quinn Bennett at 4:47 and Alexandra Petersen on the power play at 19:36 to keep the game within reach heading into the third.

Anna Maria opened the third period strong, cutting into the deficit when Aliana Gibson scored just over ten minutes in, but Framingham State added an insurance goal late to secure the win.

Bennett finished with a goal and an assist, while Petersen, Gibson, and Roberts each found the scoresheet for the AMCATS. Provenzo, Ceili Nolan, and Jada Kosowan each recorded assists.

Anna Maria fired 41 shots on goal in the contest. Alyse Mutti made 22 saves in 33:06 of action, while Emma Brewer stopped 12 shots in relief.

Anna Maria returns home on Friday, Jan. 30, hosting Rivier University in a MASCAC matchup. Puck drop is scheduled for 5:40 p.m.
