Peterson And Bennett Earn MASCAC Weekly Honors For Women’s Ice Hockey
PAXTON, MA - Two Anna Maria College women's ice hockey players earned Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference Weekly Awards for their outstanding performances in last week's slate of games.
The league office announced on Monday afternoon that sophomore forward Alexandra Peterson has been named MASCAC Women's Ice Hockey Player of the Week for her impressive performance in the AMCATS' dominant 7-0 victory over conference rival MCLA on Friday evening. Peterson had a hand in five of the team's seven goals, scoring one herself, while assisting on four others to finish the game with a total of five points.
Freshman forward Quinn Bennett received the honor of Rookie of the Week for her hand in helping Anna Maria to a pair of back-to-back wins. She had a goal and an assist in the 7-0 victory over MCLA, and opened scoring for the AMCATS the following day in the team's 2-1 victory over New England College.
Peterson, Bennett, and the Anna Maria women's ice hockey team close out 2025 on a high note before returning to action in the new year with an away game at Vermont State Castleton on Friday, January 2nd, beginning at 4 p.m.
