SALEM, Mass. - Anna Maria College was defeated 4-2 by Salem State University in a Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference women's ice hockey game on Saturday afternoon at Rockett Arena.
With the loss, the AMCATS fall to 5-14-2 overall and 3-6-2 in MASCAC play.
After a scoreless first period, Salem State scored twice in the opening three minutes of the second period to take a 2-0 lead. Anna Maria responded 23 seconds after the second goal, as Suri Roberts scored the first AMCATS goal of the game. Mia Provenzo followed with another unassisted goal one minute later to send the game into the final period tied 2-2.
The Vikings retook control of the game, scoring twice in the third period to give the game its final score of 4-2.
Anna Maria returns to action on Friday, February 13, with a road matchup against Worcester State at the DCU Center.
