WORCESTER, MA - Anna Maria College shut out the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts, defeating the Trailblazers 7-0 in a Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference women's ice hockey game on Friday night at the Buffone Arena.
With the win, the AMCATS improve to an overall record of 2-5-1 and 2-2-1 in conference play.
Aliana Gibson wasted no time, scoring the AMCATS' opening goal two minutes into the game, triggering a wave of teddy bears to rain down onto the ice, marking the annual Teddy Bear Toss game. The event serves as a holiday toy drive, with every stuffed animal collected being donated to the Gándara Center in Chicopee, MA.
From there, the home team tacked on two more goals, with Jada Kosowan scoring her first of the season 15 minutes into the game, and Alexandra Petersen adding a third goal one minute later, assisted by Ceilia Nolan, to end the period with a 3-0 advantage.
The AMCATS kept their foot on the gas in the second period, as Mia Provenzo struck for back-to-back goals before the seven-minute mark. Just 15 seconds after Provenzo's second score, Camryn Beauvais added another to push the lead to 6-0 heading into the final period.
Quinn Bennett capped off scoring for the game, scoring an unassisted goal early in the third to give the game its final score of 7-0.
Emma Brewer played the entire game in goal for the AMCATS, making 10 saves to pick up her second win of the season and maintain her first career shutout with a perfect save percentage of 1.000.
Anna Maria jumps back into action tomorrow, Saturday, December 6th, with an away game against New England College, marking the final contest of 2025. Puck is set to drop at 3 p.m.
