PAXTON, MA – The AMCATS lost to the Wildcats on Tuesday afternoon at Caparso Field, falling 2-1 in a non-conference men's soccer game against Johnson & Wales University.
With the result, Anna Maria drops to 1-5-1 on the season, while remaining 0-1-1 in MASCAC play.
In a contentious game that saw nine cards between both teams, including a pair of red cards, the AMCATS managed to take more shots on target than the Wildcats, with nine compared to eight for the visitors.
Kyle Brocker led the way for the home team, scoring an unassisted goal in the 60th minute of play to tie the game at 1-1. The score remained deadlocked for another 13 minutes until JWU scored the eventual game-winner in the 73rd minute.
Ben Chikwana was another impactful player for the AMCATS, taking two shots, both of which were on target. Romain Baert was in goal for all 90 minutes, making four saves throughout the contest.
Anna Maria returns to action on Saturday, September 27th, with a home game against Mass. Maritime scheduled to begin at 10 a.m.
