WALTHAM, MA - Anna Maria College men's soccer was narrowly defeated by the nationally ranked Brandeis University Judges, losing 1-0 on Tuesday afternoon at Gordon Field.
With the loss, the AMCATS' overall record drops to 3-7-1, while remaining 2-1-1 in MASCAC play.
After giving up an early goal just four and a half minutes in the game, the AMCATS locked in defensively, holding their opponent scoreless the rest of the way behind an impressive effort from goalkeeper Romain Baert, who finished with eight saves in 90 minutes in net to give his team a fighting chance.
On the attacking side, Clayton Foster and Nils Cofalka each registered shots on goal as the AMCATS searched for an equalizer, with Ben Chikwnha and Michael Azzarone adding a pair of shots to match the total of four on the game.
Anna Maria looks to return to the win column with a MASCAC matchup at Framingham State on Saturday, October 11th. Kick-off is set for 11 a.m.
