NORTON, MA – Anna Maria fell 4-0 to the #7 nationally ranked Wheaton College Lyons in a non-conference collegiate men's soccer matchup on Wednesday afternoon at Keefe Field.
With the result, the AMCATS drop to an overall record of 2-6-1, while remaining 1-1-1 in MASCAC play.
Despite being outshot by a wide margin, Anna Maria created several potential scoring opportunities. Ariel García, in particular, had a pair of chances, including one shot that rattled off the post, and another that forced the Wheaton goalkeeper into a tough save to keep the AMCATS off the scoreboard.
Romain Baert was busy in net for Anna Maria, making 11 saves over 90 minutes to keep the AMCATS in the game.
Anna Maria looks to right the ship in a return to conference play on Saturday, October 4th, when they face off against MCLA in a Senior Day celebration at Caparso Field.
