Men’s Soccer Outpaced by Amherst

PAXTON, MA - Anna Maria College was defeated 5-0 by the 2024 Division III National Champions, Amherst College, in a non-conference men's soccer game on Wednesday evening at Caparso Field.

With the result, the AMCATS' overall record drops to 1-4-1, while remaining 0-1-1 in conference play.

Before the start of play, Anna Maria welcomed Paxton Youth Soccer players onto the field to join them during the international walkout.

Anna Maria finished the match with five total shots, including one on target from Ben Chikwanha late in the game, forcing the Mammoth's goalie to make a save to keep the AMCATS off the board. Isidore Papillon, Jayden Zarco De-La-Cruz, Sam Christian, and Ariel García each added one shot attempt.

Romain Baert played all 90 minutes in net for the AMCATS, making three saves over the course of play.

Anna Maria looks to get back on track next Tuesday, September 23rd, with a non-conference matchup against Johnson & Wales at Carparso Field. Kick off is scheduled for 4 p.m.
