FRAMINGHAM, MA - Anna Maria College was defeated 3-2 by Framingham State University in a competitive Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference men's soccer game on Saturday afternoon.
With the loss, the AMCATS' overall record drops to 3-8-1 and 2-2-1 in conference play.
The first half saw Anna Maria let up a pair of goals to head into the break trailing 2-0. It wasn't until the 65th minute in the second half that Hugo Drougard found Nils Cofalka, who converted the score to get the AMCATS on the board. Now trailing 3-1, Drougard picked up another assist on a goal from Clayton Foster with just over two minutes remaining. Still, ultimately, the visitors ran out of time before being able to come back.
Most team statistics favored Anna Maria, taking 12 shots on goal compared to eight for the Rams, leading in corners 10-4, while committing fewer fouls. Romain Baert played all 90 minutes in goal for the AMCATS, making three saves in the loss.
Anna Maria returns to action on Wednesday, October 15th, to host Clark University in a non-conference matchup beginning at 6 p.m.
