AUBURN, MA - Anna Maria College skated to a 1-1 draw against Manhattanville University in a non-conference collegiate men's ice hockey game on Saturday night at the Horgan Arena.
With the draw, the AMCATS move to 8-4-1 overall while remaining near the top of the MASCAC standings at 4-1.
After two scoreless periods, the AMCATS broke through midway through the third when Brady Harroun netted his first goal as an AMCAT. Harroun, who transferred from Norwich, scored his first goal for Anna Maria after joining the team on Friday and appearing in the AMCATS' 3-1 win over Johnson & Wales. He was assisted on the play by Liam Wells and Pearce Baker with 10:51 remaining in regulation.
Manhattanville responded with just 0.5 seconds left in regulation to force overtime. The four-on-four overtime period yielded no scoring, sending the contest to a shootout, where Dylan McElhinny scored to secure the shootout victory for Anna Maria.
Matthew Hennessey played the full contest in net for the AMCATS, stopping 27 shots. As a team, Anna Maria outshot the visitors 39-28.
Anna Maria returns to action on Saturday, January 17, with a home matchup against Salve Regina. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:40 p.m.
