Men's Ice Hockey Downed By Panthers

HOLDERNESS NH- On Wednesday, December 10^th the Anna Maria College men's ice hockey team traveled to Holderness, NH to take on the Panthers of Plymouth State University. The AMCATS lost the game 9-1.

The Panthers would start things off early scoring the first goal of the game about three minutes into the first period. Unable to generate any offense, the AMCATS would find themselves trailing by three as the game entered second period action. 

It would be the AMCATS to come out quick in the second period getting their first goal of the game off a pass from Pearce Baker to Nolan Ring who would send it over to Owen Barrow for the AMCATS first goal of the game .The AMCATS would hope to use that momentum of their goal but things would not improve for the AMCATS however as the Panthers would go on to score two consecutive goals against the AMCATS in the second period, with the AMCATS now trailing the Panthers 5-1. 

It would be all Panthers in the third period scoring four consecutive goals to add to their lead and keeping the AMCATS off the board for the rest of the game, resulting in the AMCATS falling to the Panthers 9-1. The AMCATS would have Cole Johnston and Pelle Russo split time in net tonight against the Panthers for a combined 32 saves. Owen Barrow would get his third goal of the season for the AMCATS against the Panthers. 

COMING UP:

The AMCATS will be back in action on Friday December 12, 2025 where they will take on the Pilgrims of New England College. Opening puck drop is set for 5:40pm at Horgan Arena.
