WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. - Anna Maria College was defeated 5-2 by Williams College in a non-conference men's ice hockey game on Saturday afternoon.
With the loss, the AMCATS overall record drops to 9-5-1, while remaining 4-1 inMASCAC play.
Williams opened the scoring late in the first period to take a 1-0 lead into the first intermission before adding two more goals in the second to extend the advantage to 3-0.
Anna Maria got on the board early in the third period when Owen Barrow scored at the 1:27 mark, assisted by Max Wenneberg and Brandon Della Paolera, cutting the deficit to 3-1. Williams responded midway through the period to regain a three-goal cushion.
Braeden McKinnon netted the AMCATS' second goal of the afternoon at 12:58 of the third period, scoring unassisted. Williams sealed the victory with an empty-net goal in the final minute.
Matthew Hennessey played the entire game in goal for the AMCATS, making 40 saves throughout the contest.
Anna Maria returns to action on Thursday, January 22, hosting Worcester State University. Puck drop is set for 5:40 p.m.
