Men’s Basketball Drops Close One Against Fitchburg

FITCHBURG, Mass. - Anna Maria College fell to Fitchburg State University 72-70 in a Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference men's basketball game on Saturday afternoon at Parkinson Gymnasium.

With the loss, the AMCATS move to 5-18 overall and 2-10 in conference play.

Anna Maria came out on fire, storming ahead with an 11-0 run to seize early control. Fitchburg answered back and took a seven-point lead into halftime. The AMCATS battled in the second half, outscoring the Falcons 37-32 behind nine points from Logan Talbot and eight from Nolan Serafin, but the late push ultimately came up two points short.

Talbot led the AMCATS with 15 points and five rebounds. Serafin recorded a double-double with 14 points and a game-high 12 rebounds. Tyson Wheeler added nine points, while Lucas Miglionico and Ryan Outlow chipped in eight points apiece.

Anna Maria returns to action on Wednesday, February 18, hosting Worcester State University at 7 p.m.
