Men’s Basketball Stopped by Salem

SALEM, MA - Anna Maria College was defeated 87-47 by Salem State University in a Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference men's basketball game on Wednesday night at Twohig Gymnasium.

With the loss, the AMCATS open conference play at 0-1 and fall to 3-8 overall.

The opening half proved difficult for Anna Maria, as the AMCATS were outscored 41-17 heading into the break. The offense showed improvement in the second half, putting up 30 points, with the bench accounting for 28 of those points.

Lucas Miglioncio led Anna Maria with 11 points, adding four rebounds and a block. The AMCATS saw 11 different players score throughout the contest, with Ethan McInerny providing a spark off the bench, scoring seven points while shooting 3-for-5 from the field.

Anna Maria returns to action on Saturday, January 10, continuing MASCAC play with a home matchup against MCLA. Tip-off is scheduled for noon.
