Men’s Basketball Falls at MCLA

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. - Anna Maria College was defeated 93-70 by Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts in a Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference men's basketball game on Wednesday evening.

With the loss, the AMCATS fall to 5-14 overall and 2-7 in Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference play.

Anna Maria struggled to find its footing early, as MCLA jumped out to a strong start and built a 47-22 halftime lead. The AMCATS responded after the break, settling in offensively and outscoring the Trailblazers 48-46 over the final 20 minutes. Despite the effort, Anna Maria was unable to overcome the early deficit.

Logan Talbot and Lucas Miglionico led Anna Maria with 14 points apiece, with Talbot shooting 5-for-8 from the field and a perfect 4-for-4 from the free-throw line. Nolan Serafin and Jason Canady each finished with nine points, while Ethan McInerny added eight.

Anna Maria returns to action on Saturday, February 7, with a road MASCAC matchup at Bridgewater State beginning at 2 p.m.
