FRANKLIN, MA - Anna Maria College was defeated 91-76 by Dean College in a non-conference Division III collegiate men's basketball game on Saturday afternoon at the Pieri Gymnasium.
With the result, the AMCATS start the 2025 season with an overall record of 1-4 before entering MASCAC play.
Dean set the tone early, building a 38-27 lead by halftime and putting Anna Maria in an 11-point hole. The AMCATS fought back in the second half, putting up nearly 50 points in the period. Lucas Miglionico sparked the offense with 13 second-half points, including a pair of threes, while Logan Talbot followed with 11. Despite the surge, the Bulldogs countered with 53 points of their own to keep the margin intact and put the game out of reach for the AMCATS.
Miglionico paced Anna Maria for the third game in a row, finishing with 17 points, two threes, and an impressive 11-for-12 performance at the free throw line, to go along with four rebounds. Yuki Efosa and Talbot added 13 points each, with Efosa grabbing a team-high six boards. Off the bench, Patrick Freeman and Stevens Joacine chipped in six points apiece.
Anna Maria jumps back into action on Monday, November 24th, for a home game against Roger Williams. Tip-off is set for 4 p.m.
