Men's Basketball Bested by Bates

WENHAM, MA – The Anna Maria College men's basketball team fell to Bates College, 100-55, in a non-conference matchup on Friday evening at the Bennett Center.

With the result, the AMCATS drop to 0-2 on the season.

Bates came out strong offensively, putting up 44 points in the first half behind efficient shooting from the perimeter, including 19 made three-pointers throughout the game. The Bobcats also received 39 points from their bench, while the AMCATS had 31.

Jopaul McKrieth led the AMCATS with 13 points and five rebounds, shooting 5-of-10 from the field. Ryan Outlow added four points and three rebounds, while Malakhi Knight finished with four points, four rebounds. Off the bench, Elijah Bishop recorded seven points and a three-pointer, while James McKinney contributed six points, and Joe Ingegneri totaled five.

Anna Maria shot 34.6% from the field and 68% from the free-throw line, while Bates finished the game shooting 49.3% overall and 43.2% from beyond the arc.
