PAXTON, Mass. - Anna Maria College fell to Bridgewater State University, 82-66, in a Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference men's basketball contest on Wednesday night at the Fuller Activities Center.
With the loss, the AMCATS drop to 4-9 overall and 1-2 in conference play.
Lucas Miglionico carried the offensive load in the first half, scoring 20 points while knocking down four three-pointers. He shot an efficient 7-for-11 from the field in the opening period, but Anna Maria trailed by 12 heading into the halftime break.
Bridgewater maintained control throughout the second half, holding off an Anna Maria push that included a 10-point half from Nolan Serafin, who connected on a pair of three-pointers. Ultimately, the Bears outscored the AMCATS 39-35 in the final 20 minutes to secure the victory.
Miglionico finished with a career-high 28 points to lead all scorers, beating his previous high of 25, which he scored in the AMCATS previous game, an 81-66 victory over MCLA. Serafin added 14 points and seven rebounds, while Yuki Efosa facilitated the offense with a team-high 10 rebounds and three assists.
Anna Maria returns to action on Saturday, January 17, with a road MASCAC matchup at Westfield State. Tip-off is scheduled for 2 p.m.
