Men’s Basketball Earns First Win Over Gordon

WENHAM, MA - Anna Maria picked up its first win of the season on Saturday night, grinding out a 74-68 road victory over Gordon College in a non-conference collegiate men's basketball game at the Bennett Center.

With the win, the AMCATS improve to an overall record of 1-2 on the season.

Anna Maria took a 32-29 lead into halftime, but Gordon briefly flipped the momentum in the second half, grabbing a 57-56 lead with just over six minutes remaining. The AMCATS answered immediately, stringing together stops and capitalizing on second-chance opportunities. A clutch stretch from Miglionico and Talbot helped swing the game back in Anna Maria's favor, and strong free-throw shooting down the stretch sealed it.

Lucas Miglionico set the tone with a team-high 21 points on 7-of-11 shooting, knocking down four threes throughout the game. Logan Talbot added 16 points, five steals, and a pair of threes, while Joe Ingegneri provided a spark off the bench with 11 points to help keep Anna Maria's offense rolling. Jopaul McKrieth hauled in seven rebounds and added eight points, while Ryan Outlow grabbed eight boards of his own. Patrick Freeman chipped in five points and three assists.

Anna Maria returns to action on Thursday, November 20th, in a road game against Lasell College beginning at 7 p.m.
