Men’s Basketball Defeated by Roger Williams

PAXTON, MA - Anna Maria College was defeated by Roger Williams University in a non-conference collegiate men's basketball game on Monday evening at the Fuller Activities Center.

With the result, the AMCATS drop to an overall record of 1-5 on the season before entering MASCAC play.

After a rough spell of shooting to start the first half, the AMCATS found themselves trailing 46-34, with 10 first-half points from Yuki Efosa and eight from Logan Talbot keeping Anna Maria within striking distance.

The AMCATS came out with increased intensity in the second half, starting the half shooting 10-for-11 from the field and 3-for-4 from behind the arc, cutting the Roger Williams lead to 72-65 halfway through the period, forcing a Hawks timeout. From there, the visitors reestablished control, hitting five threes in the half to put the game out of reach.

Talbot paced the AMCATS with 15 points, going 6-for-11 from the field, including a three-pointer. Efosa and Lucas Miglionico finished with 10 points each. Patrick Freeman added a spark off the bench, finishing with 11 points.

Anna Maria returns to action on Wednesday, December 3rd, in a road game at Connecticut College. Tip-off is set for 4 p.m.
