AMCATS DROP DOUBLEHEADER TO RAIDERS

The Anna Maria College softball team traveled to Nashua New Hapshire to take on the raider of Rivier University for a non-conference matchup. 

Game One-

Nashua, NH -The Anna Maria College softball team fell in game one of Wednesday's doubleheader, falling to the raider 3-1.

The AMCATS were held to five hits on the afternoon but saw a strong performance from Ella Moon, who led the offense with a 3-for-4 showing at the plate, including a pair of doubles. Madison Levesque added a hit and scored the team's lone run, while Emelia Carvalho drove in Anna Maria's only RBI.

In the circle, Makenna Lovelette stood tall, striking out five and keeping Anna Maria within reach throughout the contest with a steady outing.

The AMCATS broke through in the later innings to get on the board but couldn't come up with the timely hit needed to complete the comeback. The AMCATS also applied pressure on the bases, with stolen bases from Moon and Carvalho.

 Game Two-

The Anna Maria softball team dropped the second game of the doubleheader to the Raiders, 9-1.

The AMCATS put together consistent at-bats throughout the contest, finishing with four hits on the day. Ella Moon, Meaghan Doyle, Mae McGowan, and Makenna Lovelette each recorded a hit, with Lovelette driving in Anna Maria's lone run as Madisyn Crossman scored following an aggressive effort on the bases.

Anna Maria remained competitive throughout, working counts, drawing three walks, and applying steady offensive pressure each inning.

The AMCATS returns to action on Saturday, March 28th, as they travel to Framingham State for a conference matchup with the Framingham State University Rams. Opening pitch is set for 12:00pm.
