SOFTBALL DROPS TWO ON THE ROAD AGAINST RAIDERS
NASHUA, NH - On Wednesday , the Anna Maria College softball team would travel to Nashua, NH to take on the Raiders of Rivier University for a Great Northeast Athletic Conference doubleheader. The AMCATS would lose both games to the Raiders 11 to 0 and 10-6.
Game One:
The Raiders would come out strong in the game against the AMCATS, and the AMCATS would put up their best efforts to try and contain the Raiders only being down 2-0 after the third inning. The AMCATS would continue to put the ball in play, but the Raiders would be able to find the ball on the other side and make the plays in the field to have strong defense against the AMCATS. Despite the AMCATS putting the ball in play, and continuing to try to get the momentum going, it would be the Raiders that would continue to pile on the runs and totally dominate the AMCATS. The AMCATS would get base runners, but just could not get the offense going to score their runners as the Raiders would continue to shut down the AMCATS offensively. The Raiders would go on to score nine more runs on the AMCATS, making the comeback for the AMCATS to be difficult, and with the strong Raiders defense on the AMCATS, the comeback would not happen as the AMCATS would fall to the Raiders 11 to 0.
Game Two:
It would be the Raiders to score first against the AMCATS, in the top of the first inning. The AMCATS would look to find the equalizer, but it would be the Raiders to find their bats again in the top of the third inning to score their second run of the game and lead the AMCATS 2 to 0. It would then be the AMCATS to tally their first run of the game against the Raiders in the bottom of the third to cut the Raiders lead to 1 run. It would be all Raiders for the next three innings scoring 5 runs after the AMCATS run in the third inning. The Raiders would lead the AMCATS 8 to 2, heading into the bottom of the sixth inning. The AMCATS would manage to get five more runs on the Raiders with one in the sixth inning and four in the seventh, but it would be the Raiders to tally two more runs in the top of the seventh inning to add to their lead over the AMCATS and close out the game on top of the AMCATS 10 to 6.

- Kiki Hicks would lead the AMCATS in RBIs in game two against the Raiders with 2.
- The AMCATS would walk 12 different times in game two against the Raiders.
