Meade earns 100th strikeout this season in split against Saints to end the regular season

PAXTON, MA– On Sunday April 27th, the Anna Maria College softball team hosted the Saints of Emmanuel College for a Great Northeast Athletic Conference matchup.  The AMCATS would split with the Saints winning the first game 3 to 1 and losing the second game 13 to 10.
 
Game One:
The Saints would find their only run of the game in the first inning as Mia Fernades would find herself advancing to second and third on pass balls and eventually being brought home by a ground out to second base. The AMCATS would tie the game up in the bottom of the second inning as Madison Levesque singled and brought home Mae McGowan to tie the game at one a piece. The AMCATS would hold off the Saints and add onto their lead in the bottom of the fifth inning. With one out down Madison Ayik and Angela Marie Gilmartin went back-to-back with two singles putting runners at first and second. A pass ball would send the runners to second and third and Mae McGowan would bring home a run with a ground out to second base. Paige Stewart would follow in suit and single to bring home the third and final run of the game. The AMCATS defense starting with sophomore pitcher Lauryn Meade would hold off the Saints for a 3-1 win. Meade would pitch the full game striking out eight and walking one.
Game Two: 
The second game would start where the first ended with a scoreless first inning. The Saints would be the first on the board as they would put up four runs on the AMCATS to start the scoring.  The AMCAST would get their chance and would put up a run of their own as Madison Levesque would single brining home Mae McGowan to make it a four to one game after the second inning. The scoring would go on hold until the Saints added on two more runs in the top of the fourth inning to make it a six to one game. The AMCATS had an explosive fifth inning totaling nine runs,  starting with a two run Homerun from Makenna Lovelette. Cutting the lead for the saints in half the AMCATS would look to add on more. With the basses loaded by three straight singles, Angela Marie Gilmartin added on another single which brought home Kiki Hicks and Ella Moon making it now a six to five game. Mae McGowan would follow up with her own single tying the game by sending Madison Ayik Home. Paige Stewart would single and advance to second on the throw taking the lead by brining Gilmartin home now leading the game seven to six. Madison Levesque brought home Mae McGowan and sending Stewart to third. The Final run of the inning would come back from Makenna Lovelette bring home Paige Stewart with her own single. Now leading by four the AMCATS would try and hold off the Saints.  The Saints would get three runs of their own as the first run scored on a pass ball and the next two came from a two-run home run. As the final inning started the AMCATS would be up by one but would soon be trailing to the Saints thirteen to ten. In a final push the AMACTS would give it their all but would ultimately fall short losing 13-10.

·      Lauryn Meade gets her 100th strikeout of the season
·      Makenna Lovelette hit her first NCAA Homerun
·     This marks the last regualr season game for the AMCATS.
