The Anna Maria Softball team hosted the trailblazers of Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts in a conference double header matchup.
Game One-
The Anna Maria softball team dropped Game One of a conference doubleheader against MCLA, falling 12–4.
The AMCATS showed some offensive rhythm with seven hits on the day, highlighted by multi-hit performances from Trinity Kehoe and Mae McGowan. Kehoe led the way with a strong showing at the plate, driving in a pair of runs, while Angela Marie Gilmartin added an RBI of her own to help create scoring opportunities.
Madisyn Crossman made an impact on the basepaths with a stolen base, and the offense flashed extra-base power from both Gilmartin and Ella Moon.
Anna Maria aimed to regroup and carry that offensive momentum into the second game of the doubleheader.
Game Two-
The Anna Maria College softball team dropped game two of its conference doubleheader against MCLA, falling 14-0.
The AMCATS were unable to find their rhythm at the plate, as they were held hitless throughout the contest. Paige Stewart and Meaghan Doyle each drew walks to provide brief opportunities, but Anna Maria couldn't generate sustained offensive momentum.
In the circle, Mackenzie Evers got the start and battled against a tough MCLA lineup that took advantage of timely hitting to build its lead.
Mae McGowan accounted for Anna Maria's lone strikeout at the plate, while the AMCATS defense continued to compete through a challenging, high-pressure matchup against an aggressive Trailblazers offense.
Anna Maria will look to regroup as conference play continues.
The AMCATS return to action on Saturday, April 11, when they host Westfield State for a conference doubleheader. First pitch is set for 12:00 PM, with a senior day ceremony taking place prior to the game. Fans are encouraged to arrive early to help celebrate the team's seniors.
