Lovelette Named MASCAC Softball Pitcher of the Week
PAXTON, Mass. - Anna Maria College sophomore Makenna Lovelette has been named the MASCAC Softball Pitcher of the Week following an impressive stretch in the circle for the AMCATS during their spring break trip to Florida.
Lovelette earned two shutout victories with a 2.74 ERA, allowing just seven earned runs across 23 innings pitched while adding seven strikeouts.
The sophomore delivered two standout performances during the week, including a complete-game shutout in an 8–0 victory over Concordia-Chicago, where she allowed just four hits while keeping the Cougar offense off the scoreboard. Lovelette followed that performance with another dominant outing, tossing a six-hit shutout with four strikeouts to lead the AMCATS to a 1–0 win over Dubuque.
Her efforts in the circle helped anchor the AMCATS pitching staff throughout the Florida trip and played a key role in the team's success during the early portion of the season.
