Women’s Volleyball Drops Non-Conference Match to Fisher
PAXTON, MA - Anna Maria was defeated in three straight sets by Fisher College in a collegiate non-conference women's volleyball game on Tuesday evening at the Fuller Center. Set scores were 25-12, 25-8, and 25-14
With the result, the AMCATS move to an overall record of 3-3 on the season.
After dropping the first two sets, the AMCATS made the third their best of the night, battling back from an early 6-2 deficit to tie the set 8-8 thanks to a three-point scoring run capped by a kill from Rilie Mendoza. From there, Fisher regained control and closed out the sweep.
Lauren Decoteau led the offense with five kills and added a service ace, while Gia Hall finished with two kills, seven assists, a team-high 11 digs, and a pair of aces. Vanessa Guimaraes chipped in two kills and five digs, and Mendoza paced the back line with eight digs.
Anna Maria continues the season with a non-conference road matchup against Albertus Magnus on Thursday, September 18th, scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
