Women’s Volleyball Undone by Bridgewater

PAXTON, MA - Anna Maria was bested by Bridgewater State, losing in three straight sets to the Bears in a Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference women's volleyball game on Thursday evening at the Fuller Center. Set scores were 25-12, 25-14, and 25-16.

With the result, the AMCATS fall to an overall record of 3-8 and 0-3 in MASCAC play.

After dropping the opening set, Anna Maria came out strong in the second, grabbing a quick 4-1 lead behind a three-point run that included a service ace from Rilie Mendoza. The Bears responded by regaining control and pulling ahead to claim the set before carrying that momentum into the third to finish off the sweep.

The AMCATS finished with 15 total kills, paced by Vanessa Guimares with six, adding four digs. Lauren Decoteau contributed three, finishing with a team-high seven digs. Gia Hall acted as the team facilitator, dishing out nine assists, while adding four digs and a pair of service aces.

Anna Maria returns to action with a tri-match against Westfield State and Fisher, on Saturday, October 4th, beginning at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m.
