PAXTON, MA - Anna Maria College was defeated in three sets by Bay Path University in a non-conference collegiate women's volleyball game Thursday evening at Fuller Gymnasium.
With the loss, the AMCATS fall to an overall record of 1-2 on the season.
After dropping the first set by a wide margin, the AMCATS fared slightly better in set two, going on an early three-point scoring run to establish an 8-6 lead. The Wildcats battled back, taking sets two and three 25-15 and 25-12 to secure the 3-0 sweep.
Vanessa Guimaraes led the charge for the Anna Maria offense with five digs, while handling four digs. Rilie Mendoza was close behind with three kills and four digs.
Anna Maria returns to action on Saturday, September 13th, for a tri-match at Vermont State Lyndon featuring Paul Smith's College. Games are scheduled to begin at 12 and 2 p.m.
