Men’s Lacrosse Defeated by Salem State

PAXTON, Mass. - Anna Maria College was defeated 27-5 by Salem State University in a non-conference men's lacrosse game on Saturday afternoon at Caparso Field.

With the loss, the AMCATS fall to 1-5 overall heading into conference play.

Salem State's offense controlled the pace early, building a commanding lead through the opening half. Anna Maria broke onto the scoreboard early in the second quarter when Miles Cormier finished a pass from Jacob Martin to make it 9-1.

After a dominant third quarter from the Vikings, the AMCATS matched the visitors in the final frame, with both teams scoring four goals. Anna Maria tallied three consecutive goals in the fourth, beginning with back-to-back unassisted goals from Kyle Pickering. Cormier added his second goal of the game shortly after on an assist from Pickering. Aidan Maisen closed out the scoring for Anna Maria with an unassisted goal.

Tyler Davidson and Nick Lopez split time in goal for the AMCATS, combining for 22 saves.

Anna Maria returns to action on Wednesday, March 11, when it hosts Johnson & Wales University at 6 p.m.
