Men’s Lacrosse Falls at Albertus Magnus

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Anna Maria College was defeated 8-5 by Albertus Magnus College in a non-conference men's lacrosse game on Tuesday evening at Celentano Field.

With the loss, the AMCATS move to 0-3 on the season.

Anna Maria struck first in the opening quarter, as Nicholas Hussa found the back of the net at 6:39, followed by an unassisted goal from Jacob Martin at 5:58 to give the AMCATS a 2-0 lead after one.

Miles Cormier extended the advantage to 3-0 early in the second quarter, but Albertus Magnus responded with three unanswered goals to even the score at 3-3 heading into halftime.

The Falcons carried the momentum into the third quarter, scoring twice to take a 5-3 lead. Jacob Martin recorded his second goal of the game on a man-up opportunity at 2:55 to cut the deficit to one, but Albertus Magnus added a late goal to take a 6-4 lead into the final quarter.

Albertus Magnus scored twice more in the fourth before Nicholas Hussa capitalized on a man-up chance with 53 seconds remaining, assisted by Jacob Martin, to account for the 8-5 final.

Tyler Davidson played all 60 minutes in goal for Anna Maria, making 14 saves.

Anna Maria returns to action on Saturday, February 21st, at home against St. Joseph's (L.I.) beginning at 1 p.m.
