Women’s Soccer Draws With Wentworth

PAXTON, MA - Anna Maria played the Wentworth Institute of Technology to a scoreless draw in a non-conference collegiate women's soccer game on Wednesday afternoon at Caparso Field.

With the result, the AMCATS slide over to an overall record of 1-8-1, while remaining 1-2 in MASCAC play.

The AMCATS held strong defensively against heavy pressure, as goalkeeper Brooke Austin turned in a standout performance with 13 saves to keep the clean sheet. Anna Maria finished with four shots on the day, including attempts on goal from Ellie Dube and Olivia Vale da Serra.

Wentworth generated 27 total shots, but Austin and the Anna Maria back line refused to break, holding the Leopards scoreless through 90 minutes of play. Both sides recorded a single corner kick, while fouls finished 5-3 in favor of Wentworth.

Anna Maria looks to right the ship in a return to conference play on Saturday, October 4th, when they face off against MCLA on the road.
