Women’s Soccer Felled by Fitchburg

FITCHBURG, MA - Anna Maria College was defeated 2-0 by Fitchburg State University in a Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference women's soccer game on Saturday afternoon at Elliot Field.

With the result, the AMCATS' overall record drops to 1-11-2 and 1-4-1 in conference play.

AMCATS goalie Brooke Austin turned in another impressive performance for her team, making 10 saves in the first half alone to keep the score at 1-0 heading into the halftime break. Kortney Clark took over goalkeeping duties in the second half, finishing with six saves.

Anna Maria registered nine total shots in the match. Olivia Vale da Serra led the way with a pair of shots on target, while Madison McNamara and Macy Hutchinson each added two attempts of their own. Jillian Caruso also contributed with a shot for the AMCATS.

Anna Maria returns home on Friday, October 24th, to host MASCAC rival Westfield State. Kick-off is scheduled for 7 p.m.
